I made a plan...so this is God laughing.

I suppose one could ask if there is ever really a "good" time to launch a new business, though I'm quite certain there is a bad one. I'm going with now. Financial Markets Collapsing? Check. Record high layoffs predicted? Check. Inability to leave the house by order of the state government? Odd that you asked, but as a matter of fact, yes, check.

Great, now that all checked out I'm going to go out on my own and start a new consulting company specializing in business strategy, sales funnel optimization, and presentation training. I allowed myself an entire day to have fear and regret because everyone needs a day once in a while and then I realized the opportunities - huge ones actually - that emerge for the bold companies in times like this.

Will a parking lot company near a formerly bustling business center re-purpose itself as a drive thru testing center? What manufacturing companies will retool fast enough to supply needed medical supplies? Which chain restaurant will rapidly sign an exclusive deal to provide meals to employees working at home for companies that previously provided meals on-site?

I suspect many of the businesses and business leaders I will work with in the coming weeks and months also had a plan. The question now is who will get the last laugh?
